Mission Statement

The corporation is organized and shall be operated exclusively for charitable purposes. The general purpose of this corporation is to improve the housing and living conditions of low- and moderate-income persons within the United States of America and other countries.   The corporation shall provide counseling, education, support, and related housing services.  The corporation shall help low and moderate-income individuals and families apply for and obtain funding to purchase single and multifamily homes.  Without limiting the general provisions herein, the corporation shall have the following specific purposes:


1. To design, develop, sponsor, promote, and operate traditional, innovative, and alternative programs for the development, purchase, renovation, ownership, and sale of residential properties on behalf of persons, including and without limitation, programs that provide related services.


2. To promote counseling services for individuals and families seeking to purchase homes and in other ways improve their housing situations.


3. To increase the prosperity of low- and moderate-income communities by promoting, encouraging and sponsoring job-creating programs for residential rehabilitation.


4. To revitalize existing commercial industries, and to establish or promote the establishment of new commercial industries, by assisting in various peoples' development of successful business skills and in their acquisition of facilities and financing.


5. To raise peoples' economic and educational levels by expanding the opportunities to own, manage and operate small business enterprise, thereby furthering the development of locally-owned and/or -operated businesses.  To assist in the acquisition of management skills and financial support from third parties necessary to operate such businesses.  To furnish management and any other advice, support, training and technical assistance necessary to operate business ventures successfully.


6. To initiate, develop, and administer programs and to enter into contracts to provide service for the improvement of the quality of life of residents in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.


7. To promote, receive, invest, assist, provide, and oversee funds to help in make individual mortgage payments and/or to provide community services.


8. To conduct and carry out any and all such purposes and activities throughout the United States and other countries, and in connection therewith, to sponsor, organize and/or incorporate local subsidiary or affiliated organizations having one or more purposes consistent with the foregoing purposes.


9. To conduct other activities and programs in furtherance of the foregoing purposes as may be carried out by a corporation organized under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 180 and described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Interval Revenue Code.
